Business innovation | Industries in transformation: the world of the perfume
In order to close this first series of mini-analysis of sectors that are in the heat of transformation (we will make more in the future, since the list is long and it will be extended) thanks to Internet and the TIC, today I would like to comment the case of a market that, although still is not in transformation, it could be in a moment.
Memory that makes a pair of years, in a food with industralists, had in my table an industralist who dedicates itself to the manufacture of packages for perfumes. In the heat of to char it, I asked to him if it did not contemplate the possibility that, in the future, its product no longer was necessary, due to the TIC and to the digitalization. Surprised, of entrance a glance threw towards my wine glass, but later it listened to me. In fact, the necessity to use the product that it makes, derives from the fact that the perfume, at the moment, has a liquid format by the technology that has been used until now producing it. But this can change. In fact, already technologies are being developed to digitize the scents, some on the part of Catalan companies. The digitalization of the scents has many applications, but one of them could be, why no, the development of a way totally different to transport the perfume. And this new way would open a world of possibilities to transform the chain of value of this sector into all its scopes, and practically all the companies would have to think about what affects to them. It is possible to be thought that it is science-fiction, but years ago also they were it other things of our present daily life.
